The best frizz-taming products

Spring and summer can be the seasons with the most bad hair days thanks to the heat and humidity. Translation: FRIZZ. As your hair absorbs moisture, it can become frizzy, dry, and course, making it difficult to style. Fun (or not so fun) fact: one in five women actually site frizz as being their biggest hair woe.
As the saying goes, the higher the hair, the closer to God. But when that includes unintentional or unwanted frizz, it doesn't seem so heavenly.
If this scenario of frizzy hair is all too familiar to you, and you’re wondering how to deal with it, here are our favorite products to help you deal.

Hair color to cover grays

Gray hair usually comes with aging. While aging is a privilege and graying hair is a natural process, some like to hide the gray strands. And there is the camp that embraces their silver strands. There are so many options for graying hair, and today we’re covering color options to cover grays.
When hair stops producing color and turns gray, the outer layers of the hair known as the cuticle become thicker, which in turn can make the hair resistant to absorbing hair color. Not to worry, we’ve got you covered (literally).
There are two ways to combat gray strands: demi-permanent and permanent hair color. Demi-permanent color delivers pigment that gradually fades over time, and they do not cover grays completely. What they achieve is a highlighted look, allowing your grays to blend a little better.
Permanent hair color completely covers gray hair, delivering a solid result. If you are looking for immediate satisfaction, we recommend going the permanent route and getting root touch-ups as often as you want.

Color options with permanent color

You can go with any color your heart desires, but keep in mind what color best suits your skin tone and your natural, pre-gray hue. All over color is very popular - think a rich brunette shade to add warmth and richness to your look.

Lowlights are an option over all-over color. They were a hot trend almost 20 years ago against chunky highlights, but in 2020, lowlights bring depth to hair color and offer dimension when blending grays.

Subtle lowlights/highlights create an effortless look.

Were you blonde before you went gray, or maybe you want to rock being a blonde? Adding highlights is also a great option. Lighter colors penetrate gray hair more evenly than darker shades, so going blonde will provide a more natural look in many cases. The added bonus of going blonde is that there will be less contrast as your hair grows out.

Twilighting Hair Color

While classic brunette shades have a reputation for being boring, there is a new trend in town that is anything but boring: twilighting. If the beginning of a new year (and a new decade) is inspiring change, twilighting is a gorgeous look for upgrading any brunette shade. The term ‘twilighting’ got its name from the inspiration of golden hues swirled throughout the sky at sunset.
Twilighting is a low-maintenance way to add depth, lightness, and movement to your hair. The technique involves a combination of balayage and babylights.
If you’re looking to try a more multidemensional look that lasts season to season, twilighting may be for you!
Here is some inspiration to add to your Pinterest board or to your photo roll to bring in to the salon!
